Fashionable Fate

Once upon a time, in 1984, a 19-year old by name of Sarah Jessica Parker played a supporting role in a personal favorite of mine, Footloose. And this budding actress, acting the role of Rusty, uttered to newcomer Ren McCormack,
"Hey I like that tie! I mean it, it's fabulous. Don't let anyone tell you different."
And yes, she also played love counselor to Ariel Moore as well, "He's cute, he's from out of town. Don't tell me that doesn't curl your toes, I know you too well."

Coincidence? Or prophesy? ; )

Lady Gaga Worthy

So I am now totally addicted to this website...
It's just funny though because I saw several of these shades when they debuted and I didn't find them "odd", just awesome!
Enjoy!

Steal of the Season!

So of course we all know that the big Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Sale is going on right now, and the deal I have found and thought was totally awesome is that their Soft & Sexy Wrap is going for as low as 75% off the original price! The cotton and cashmere is $14.99, or you can spend $19.99 for the linen and rayon blend. Sweeeeet!!

So I just watched Sex and the City yesterday, and now I find myself in a desperate craving for some vibrantly colored frocks! I can't wait for the sequel next week!

If I had to pick the top 3 costume closets in the world to go through, I would definitely choose:
1. Gossip Girl
2. Sex and the City
3. Bonnie and Clyde!

Facts of the Day

Here is a post from another blog called oddee.com. It's all about little quirks and oddities, and I found this pretty interesting: "12 Strangest Jeans". Some will make you raise your eyebrows, but I want to experiment with these boot-socks jeans!

Insomnia At Its Finest

Ta-daaa! Two new creations, courtesy of my scrap pile!
So tonight I made this top (duh!) and also a cute little circle skirt, which was WAY simple!  I would post a picture of the skirt too, but really, I'm taking pictures with my webcam and I don't have a perch the right height, lol.  Maybe within the next few days though.
They're both made of a jersey knit fabric, which I don't have much experience with, so I'm glad the stretch ended up working well for me since I was winging it.  I think it will be good to experiment with some different stitch widths and some interfacing in the seams though, because I'm afraid these are going to start to stretch out really fast.

Goodnight bloggers! Maybe now that I've managed to be productive today I can get some sleep!

For All Fellow Diet Coke Addicts

Okay, so who hasn't seen Karl Lagerfeld's newly designed Diet Coke bottle yet?  LOVE it!  I mean, I was addicted to this stuff enough before, but I guess I should just hope he doesn't decide to do a new Diet Mountain Dew design too, or else I'm really in trouble.

Sweet Summertime!

Only 4 more days of classes and exams and yesterday it finally hit 90 degrees in the Burg...my happy place is almost here!
And that means it's time for the summer staple, tanktops!  The best ones I have found not just this year, but I think ever, are at Wal-Mart!  They're by the store's label Faded Glory, and I love them because they are long and still keep their length when you put them on and they stretch out.  They give a beautiful fit that doesn't look strained, like a lot of rib-knits do sometimes.  Plus, they are made from organic cotton and come in tons of fun colors! You can even buy them in packs of 3 online right now.
