New Line Lookout!

It was announced yesterday that Jennifer Lopez and her hubby, Marc Anthony, will be launching fashion lines with Kohls! The lines will feature everything from sportswear to sleepwear, as well as shoes and accessories. The power duo is excited to bring new innovation to the retailer, and I am excited to see what styles Jenny from the Block turns out! After all, she has definitely been known for some of her fashion moments!

Silly, Silly Marc Jacobs

Okay, so I have been pretty neutral on the whole Silly Bandz front. I don't particularly care to have them, but I don't care if other adults wear them either. In fact, I thought the Hokie ones that came out this football season were pretty bad-ass. But then this week I founds...Marc Jacobs silly bandz! Really?! I guess this trend will now be legit outside the playground now. And they would make a pretty good Christmas present I think, particularly for the middle school-high school crowd, who are young enough to have been at the front of the Silly Bandz phenomenon and also old enough to appreciate a little designer style. They are sold at Shopbop.com, and are sold out right now but hopefully will be replenished soon if they are your fancy!

And also, I visited the Marc Jacobs site after hearing about these Silly Bandz (or "gel bracelets" technically), and also found...Marc Jacobs Sharpies! Now these are something I would definitely love to find in my Christmas stocking, just for fun!

Blog Lovin'

Here are a few of blogs I frequent daily, for inspiration, news, and plain old procrastination!

This blog gives not only great fashion coverage, but also wonderful recipes and home decor posts! She has a wonderful classic and down to earth style and is a great example of how blogging can become a career if you are truly dedicated!

The blog of Virginia Tech's finest fashionistas, the Fashion Merchandising and Design Society! There are tons of news tidbits and their new feature, One on One, helps you get to know members and alumni of the fashion industry!

This is a new fave of mine that I actually just discovered this week! My favorite posts are "The 10th Commandment" numbers, where author Belle takes a trend and finds them in three different price points: Elected Official, Hill Staffer, and Unpaid Intern. Definitely a great tool for those of us wanting to flesh out our wardrobes with new life but are having trouble budgeting it all!

Why I Love Philadelphia

This past summer my parents and I spent a day in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Having grown up watching Boy Meets World, I was already excited, but I absolutely fell head over heels for this city. It's rich history and modern-day vibrancy make it absolutely inspiring!

9. Fireman's Hall Museum: A great little piece of history right down the road from Elfreth's Alley!

8. Buffalo Exchange: A secondhand clothing store that values uniqueness and funkiness, so you can always find a treasure.

7. Elfreth's Alley: The oldest residential street in the US, just the whimsical sounding name
alone is enough to make me love it, and its charm in person is absolutely irresistable!

6. Rittenhouse Square: A charming little park area surrounded by fun
dining and
great shopping, and always filled with people-watching worthy walkers.

5. Home of Edgar Allen Poe: A new vacation tradition of my family and mine, visiting the homes of Edgar Allen Poe all up and down the northeast of the US.

4. Independence Hall: My mom got annoyed with Dad and I because we were more interested
to see all the places featured in National Treasure than what the tour guide was saying! They do still have the actual chair George Washington sat in during the Second Continental Congress.

3. National Liberty Museum: Celebrating the diversity that is America and encouraging us all to embrace each other with love and
acceptance.

2. Scoop Deville: Yummy, creamy frozen yogurt with any and every kind of topping mixed right in for a smooth, sinfully good treat!

1. Urban Outfitters Headquarters: Does this one really need any explanation?

And things I will be sure to do on my next (hopefully soon!) visit: Eat another cheesesteak and a big ol' Philly pretzel! Go on a spooky ghost tour. Visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art (we missed the Renoir exhibit!) The Dream Garden glass mosaic off of Washington Square. Go to a Phillies game of course. Jam on the River Festival (A New-Orleans style party migrates up north!)

What I Want For Christmas

Is this awesome anorak coat from Old Navy! With cozy flannel lining and a nice roomy hood, it will be good for snowy December walks to chilly March rains!
